Watch out Sydney...

Here I Come!

Breaking from my normal routine, I'm posting my entry early for this week. I'm due to head off to Sydney in less than 24 hours and neither hubby nor I have started packing. I know what I need to bring although I haven't ironed any of the business clothes I need to take along. Nor have I had a look at anything else that we will need to bring.

I have, however, bought myself a pair of Crocs for the trip.

Some of you will think I'm mad. Some of you will think I've caved in to peer pressure. And others might wonder why I'd wanna walk around with holes in my shoes (hubby has asked me this question numerous times. I tell him that good ventilation is the key to un-smelly feet).

The answer to the question of "Why Crocs?" is simple. I want to be able to walk around Sydney in comfort.

I went to the Crocs website to have a look at their shoes and almost every pair I looked at had comfort somewhere in the lines. The Croc I bought says this:

• comfortable, cool, and molds to your feet • orthotic foot bed • advanced toe-box ventilation system • slip-resistant and non-marking soles • anti-microbial and odor resistant • italian styling • ergonomic certified • wide, roomy foot bed • made with croslite™ PCCR material • waterproof double stitched leather uppers • weighs only ounces

I'm going to try and get away with wearing them to this business lunch...but somehow, I think that might not happen. It's hard wanting to mix comfort with business - something always has to give. But unfortunately, the bottom line is this - holes and stripes somehow just don't go together.

& so, down to some serious packing I must go.

p/s - If you leave a comment, hopefully my 'Out of Office' reply will work. If not, blame it on IT.
pp/s - If you thought that you'd really get an 'Out of Office' reply, you really need to get out more often. I'll see you in Sydney.

Don't do it, Moo!

Wearing Crocs is fashion suicide enough so don't you go wearing them to meet your CEO!

BTW, have tagged you :)

Hope you enjoy your trip~

Fashion suicide? I happen to own one pair.. black and red straps :P

Actually, forget I said that. The fact that it's coming from me is a bad thing.

Moo : how much you bought yours for? Let's have a look a the design! You can't stink a croc, that's the cool thing. And I think it goes best with jeans, so don't wear it to a power lunch.

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Another one bitten by the Croc BUG!!!! MAN! BATA selipar Jepun is also comfy...Pallas Jazz that you wore to school is also comfy....SO WHY spend AUS$100 on a foam shoe with holes in it?!!!!!!

lol!!!

FGM... i think selipar jepun bata is expensive! i remember i used to get 5 pairs of selipar jepun for RM1 at pasar malam... that was in late '70s, early '80s *wink*

i have to agree with syrope and FGM... DON'T DO IT!!there are so many fashionable, comfortable selipar jepuns out there to fall victim to the crocs!

fairygodmother - Crocs aren't that expensive la. RM160, not AUD100.

And I think Bata and Pallas are overpriced for the quality you get with those shoes.

Incidentally, Crocs aren't foam. It's a type of PU ie-polyurethane. Totally different from foam.

i own a pair too...

Aiyah, izso, foam is foam la. Polyurethane is probably the chemical name for foam :p

• comfortable, cool and molds into whatever shape you are • really good for bed • so advanced doesn't need ventilation system • slip-resistant unless you're on soapy floor then tread really carefully • odor resistant - this is not guaranteed • multi-cultural styling • certified by God and even Darwin • can get as wide as you want • made from nature (majority of the time) • waterproof but can't guarantee hairstyle protection • the weight depends on your diet

i remember when i was a kid, what could be more comfortable than running around kaki ayam and naked?!

ninjabee - until you got stung by a bee.. or bitten by insects.. or when mom forced down doses after doses of de-wormer.

:\ I just don't feel the vibes anymore running around stark naked. Heh.

Naz - not true. Polyurethane is the stuff they use to make replacement bushing and gaskets for cars, they last a lifetime and are very good for racing kakis. Heh. That ain't no foam man.

JBravo - which one you got? You finally bought it eh? Heh

johnybravo said...

I didn't finally buy it. I bought it way long before you wet your pants about getting one, hehe...

Just as long as you don't wear them whenever we're out together. Or I might just make you eat them just to see how durable they are.

Welcome back Ninjamoo! I wanna hear all about your trip~~

My boss and colleagues love Crocs too like you. Do you know they now have high heeled Crocs? Quite ok if you go for the black and white wedgies. The pink one looks ok too but it's quite difficult to match with clothing (and not look too plasticky)

johnybravo said...

i got them after you went back to aussieland lahhhhhhhhhh. Anyway i got it in taiwan cause my old shoes was killing my feet and crocs saved me. hhehehe.

izso said...

crocs forever!

I say we tie down Pugly to a chair and force fit a pair on her feet or something

izso said...

Danny has a pair of crocs too! Hiaks.

NinJaMoo said...

maggie: Thanks but I'm happy to have holes at the moment. I'll let you know when I'm itching to plug them up ;)

syrope: Really? I tried the ones that look like ballerina shoes...I thought they looked weird but it wasn't that bad in the mirror.

NinJaMoo said...

johnybravo: Hahahah...they're EVERYWHERE!!! So which one do you have?

izso: I think pugly might enjoy the being tied up bit too much. & how do you know Danny's got a pair of Crocs?

johnybravo said...

i got the outdoor ones, obviously... hehehe

izso said...

Danny was wearing his when I visited Lisa in the Maternity ward. Loafer / crocs cross breed.

And Pugly enjoying being tied up.. haha.. I forgot about that. Perhaps we should chain her or something heavy
